The vice president of India, Shri. Venkaiah Naidu presented the national film awards today in New Delhi.

Two the finest actors Keerthy Suresh and Ayushman Khurana bagged the top honors as the best actress and best actor.

While Keerthy Suresh won the prestigious award for her performance as Savitri in Mahanati, Ayuhshman Khurana received the award for Andhadhun.

Mahanati, directed by director Nag Aswhin and produced by Vyjayanthi Movies, and presented by Swapna Dutt and Priyanka Dutt is a visually and emotionally engaging biopic on the life of yesterday actress Savitri. It encompasses the life and career of the artiste in poetic style and reveals the bitter truth and irony behind a glamorous and legendary actress. The film has won several awards and this national film award tops the list.

 

In the film Akash (Ayushmann Khurrana), plays the role of a  blind pianist desperately in search of the ‘dhun’ that will be his ticket to London, meets Sophie (Radhika Apte) by accident. She lands him a gig at her father’s upscale restaurant, Franco’s, where he meets yesteryear actor Pramod Sinha (Anil Dhawan). A brilliant film.
