A family source told PTI that “it was a ‘khula'”, which refers to the right of a Muslim woman to unilaterally divorce her husband.
How did Shoaib Malik Sania Mirza Separation happen?
Sources close to the family revealed that Shoaib and Sania’s separation was initiated through a ‘khula,’ referencing the Muslim woman’s right to unilateral divorce. Sania, the mother of their five-year-old son Izaan, had been living in Dubai with Shoaib since their marriage in Hyderabad in April 2010.
Rumors of discord between the celebrity couple have circulated since 2022, with the pair rarely seen together in recent years. Malik also recently unfollowed Sania on Instagram, adding fuel to the speculations.
The couple has a four-year-old son, Izhan Mirza Malik, who turned 5 last October. Before tying the knot with Sania in 2010, Malik was married to Ayesha Siddiqui for eight years from 2002.
Sana Javed, a prominent actress known for her roles in Pakistani films and popular drama serials, has previously been married to singer Umair Jaiswal. Their modest wedding in 2020 gained attention amid the COVID-19 pandemic. However, reports of their divorce surfaced two months ago, paving the way for Shoaib Malik and Sana Javed’s new chapter of companionship.
