Want to go down the memory lane, this Durga Puja Festive Season , a pandal in Ghaziabad’s Indirapuram showcases hand painted photographs and 3 D flexes of finest, popular cinema icons of Bengal Cinema.

It is a trip that takes you from the iconic scenes of Ei path jadi na sesh hoi and Saptapadi to Satyajit Ray’s debut movie Pather Panchali. The best of the artistic series is the Prantic Cultural Society’s ‘Bengal Talkies’ which grabbed the maximum eyeballs.

The pandal turned into an old cineplex building created by a Kolkata-based artist Taposh Maity , collaboration with 20 artisans.

A 16 mm projector lent an antique look to the pandal, with flexes of Utpal Dutt, Simi Garewal, Rituparna Ghosh, Aparna Sen and many other artistes, adorning the beautiful set up that added vibrancy to the festivities.

The society has indeed found a beautiful way to combine religious locale to blend with art, artists, cinema and the glory of the past. The environment-friendly pandal also highlighted  single-use plastic and using biodegradable material.

Pandal’s are congregation of religion, beliefs, faith and people who come in large numbers to pray for goodness. Such initiatives go a long way in making the festive times a joyous moment that can be cherished for long time.

Prantic’s Durga puja has been awarded as one of the best Durga Puja in Delhi NCR in the past, and this year too it made a mark. This year’s theme ‘Celebrating 100years of Bengali Cinema’ and keeping in sync with the legacy got the them the best durga puja award.
