Tuesday, March 17, 2026: With less than two days to go before the release of Dhurandhar 2, tickets are being booked quickly across India and abroad. The film, starring Ranveer Singh as an Indian spy in Karachi, has already sold over a million tickets through advance bookings.
Because the film runs for nearly four hours, many theaters have limited the number of daily shows. To meet demand, some cinemas are adding late-night and post-midnight screenings. In Mumbai and Thane, PVR Chakala and Movie Max Sion have shows starting as early as 1:50 AM and running until 11:30 PM. Connplex Cinemas in Ahmedabad and Movie Max in Thane are also offering late-night screenings starting Thursday. While this is not possible in every city due to safety and logistics, more theaters in Western and South India are expected to add similar timings over the weekend.
Dhurandhar Craze: DDLJ out of normal spot at Maratha Mandir
Even Maratha Mandir in Mumbai, known for showing Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge every day for decades, has adjusted its schedule. The theater moved DDLJ’s 11:30 AM show to early morning to accommodate Dhurandhar 2.
So far, Dhurandhar 2 has sold nearly 15 lakh tickets in India through advance bookings, with about half for paid preview shows. Paid previews have earned ₹35 crore, while day 1 bookings have brought in ₹21 crore. Outside India, Dhurandhar 2 is the first Indian film to reach $5 million in North American pre-sales. Overall, advance bookings worldwide are more than ₹125 crore.
Dhurandhar 2 also features R Madhavan, Arjun Rampal, Sanjay Dutt, Sara Arjun, and Rakesh Bedi. Akshaye Khanna, who played the antagonist in the first Dhurandhar, makes a cameo. The first Dhurandhar earned ₹1,300 crore worldwide, and the sequel is expected to attract large audiences after its release on March 19.
