July 31, 2026: Spider-Man: Brand New Day has swung into Indian cinemas with a record-breaking debut, delivering the biggest opening day ever for a Hollywood film in the country and surpassing one of Marvel’s biggest milestones.

The Tom Holland-led superhero spectacle collected an estimated ₹60.60 crore nett on its first day, overtaking the long-standing benchmark set by Avengers: Endgame, which opened at ₹53 crore nett in India in 2019.

Released across 17,250 shows nationwide, the Marvel blockbuster posted an impressive 72.3% overall occupancy, taking its Day 1 India gross collection to ₹72.44 crore.

The English version led the collections with ₹32.25 crore nett, recording 55% occupancy, while the Hindi dubbed version emerged as the surprise performer with ₹22 crore nett and an exceptional 95% occupancy, highlighting the film’s strong appeal beyond English-speaking audiences.

Among the southern language versions, the Telugu release earned ₹3.25 crore nett with 65% occupancy, closely followed by the Tamil version, which collected ₹3 crore nett with 66% occupancy. The Malayalam version contributed ₹7 lakh, while the Kannada version added ₹3 lakh.

The massive opening has positioned Spider-Man: Brand New Day as one of the strongest global releases of the year. According to trade estimates, the film is currently tracking an opening weekend of around USD 800 million worldwide, underlining Marvel’s continued box office dominance.

Directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, Spider-Man: Brand New Day marks the 38th film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and the fourth standalone MCU Spider-Man outing featuring Tom Holland.

The film follows Peter Parker as he navigates the aftermath of the events in Spider-Man: No Way Home, while introducing a fresh chapter in the beloved superhero’s journey. The cast also includes Zendaya, Jacob Batalon, Sadie Sink, and Jon Bernthal.
