Movie Review : Panga is a Tribute to ‘Motherhood’
Panga is a Tribute to ‘Motherhood’ , a story that defines the beauty of Maa and their eternal committment – Maa Tujhe Salaam
The Story: Panga is about the story of Kangana Ranaut (a retired kabaddi player) return to the sport after being away from the sport for over 7 years. What happens thereafter is the challenges that she has to face once she returns. The movie is set in the background of – by-lanes of Bhopal.
The movie is well scripted, and the well-acted sports drama immerses you in to the story by characters who are easy to relate to. The movie seamless keeps the audience hooked from beginning to the end quite well.
Director Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari (Nil Battey Sannata, Bareilly Ki Barfi) has found the right way to narrate the story and stays true to small-town life and challenges around. She has found a winner with this film, co-written with Nikhil Mehrotra and dialogues inputs from Nitesh Tiwari. It remains an authentic story , with right elements of thrill.
Kangana has played the role with great tenacity and has brought her very best. Her performance is brilliant as deals with the role riddled with domestic responsibilities as a mother and wife. Her dialogues in the film “Main kya kar sakti thi, aur main kya kar rahin hoon” is so well carved and creates the right impact and essence of the film.
Jaya Nigam (Ranaut), role is loaded with twists and turn which is a delicate balance of highs and lows, and the scenes which show her getting closer to her dream is beautifully pictured . Even pulling off incapable things makes the film even more engaging.
The crucial kabaddi sequences choreographed (by national-level player Gauri Wadekar) is spot on, giving it the natural look and feel of the rural popular game Kabaddi.
You will love all the Panga. Go watch it in theaters.
