Zee5 Chadarangam Review:Good twists, turns, and nail-biting political drama; Senior actor Srikanth has delivered one of his finest performance in this Zee5 series as an actor-politician. More than a politics it also introduces you to a politician and his human behavior and greed.

Story in Brief:  The state of erstwhile Andhra Pradesh is embroiled in great political uncertainty. With unsteady leadership, and the incumbent Chief Ministers playing puppets to INP Partyman Vasundhara Dhar.

As the uproar begins amongst people for change, combined with media uproar, popular actor  Gangadhar decides to take a plunge into politics by launching his party ‘Telugu Kranthi Sangham’. Laying foundation to his journey, and building his political career has backing of  Media baron Gurumurthy, former INP leader Ramakrishna Rao, Gangadhar’s nephew Bapineedu.

The crux of the story is will the first actor-politician CM of the state, with little idea of administration and day-to-day challenges of the ruling a state go far and become successful? Where is he headed?

Review and Performances

Actor Srikanth’s has delivered a commendable performance and presents himself as a versatile actor. His performance in Chadarangam will surely bring fresh perspective to his strength as an actor. What makes it good for him is a good solid well bonded script that suits actor Srikanth’s personality, he has belted out a fantastic performance , diving deep down into the character of Chadarangam.

The performance of supporting actors are credit worthy too, with Ravi Prakash as Bapineedu – bringing an impressive performance. Sunainaa, Chalapathi Rao, Nagineedu, Jeeva, Kasi Viswanath have also delivered their roles with great commitment.

Chadarangam, is a heady mix of family drama, political deceit and human greed, in a way relate to the legendary actor -turned politician NTR and long serving CM of undivided Andhra Pradesh. A journey that began with a huge victory as a CM in 1983– everything about him and life journey from the actor-politician’s unconventional ways to reach out to people, the clarity/simplicity in his thought and the hope he gave to an average voter about regional leadership.

But Chadarangam is not about this old tale, it is a series which has been treated to keep you engaged about human character and their day to day sensibilities. The story telling, writing and screenplay elements is commendable, and have done very well in introducing the audience humane side of the protagonist – his integrity, his weaknesses, his stupidities and impulsiveness – that throws everyone around him out of gear instantaneously. It is a fictional tale of a Chief Minister , his ups and downs.

What makes it a worthy watch is the way the political seesaw battle between Ramakrishna and Gangadhar. It takes the viewer through the dishonesty of local politics, its methodologies, opportunism and to what extend one can go to seek power, sidestepping the very foundation of the our national constitution. It is a well told tale of what is politics and what happens in politics. The dialogues and in sync background score provide sufficient reason to watch the series currently streaming in ZeePremium.

Watch it if you love politics and the game of politics. The web series is produced by Vishnu Manchu’s 24 Frames Factory. The series currently streaming in Zee5 is available in Hindi and Telugu.
