The Invisible Man Review : An Uncommon Psychological Horror Thriller
The movie revolves around the central character of the movie, Cecilia’s (Elisabeth Moss) as she goes about to untangle things that happens around her, and she hopelessly attempts to prove she is being hunted by someone only visible to her.
Story: Cecilia (Elisabeth Moss) goes through the pain of an offensive, derogatory relationship with a brilliant and wealthy scientist Adrian (Oliver Jackson-Cohen). She makes a sudden decision on one night, to leave him, and run-away with her sister Emily coming to her aid (Harriet Dyer), to live with their childhood buddy James (Aldis Hodge) and his ten daughter Sydney (Storm Reid).
But when Cecilia’s abusive ex commits suicide and leaves her a generous portion of his vast fortune, Cecilia suspects his death was a hoax.
As a series of eerie coincidences turn lethal, threatening the lives of those she loves, Cecilia’s sanity begins to unravel as she desperately tries to prove that she is being hunted by someone nobody can see.
The movie is a reboot of The Invisible Man film series, it follows a woman who believes she is being haunted by her abusive partner, despite him apparently having died. The movie deserve a praise for Moss’s performance and the combination of scares with “a smart narrative about how women can be manipulated and abused in harmful relationships.”
