Coronavirus Lockdown: Irrfan’s ‘Angrezi Medium’ to be re-released This was announced by the makers of the movie and the director of the movie. The movie which released during the covid-19 scare worldwide, opened to good reviews, and the collections were slowly but steadily climbing. All of a sudden, the scare got bigger and government announced shut down of all entertainment activities and closure of theaters.
Director of the movie Homi Adajania confirmed the report about the movie being re-released after the clampdown is lifted and normalcy returns in India.
Confirming this news the director posted on his Instagram story, “At midnight all theaters will close across India till the authorities give us further notice. We will re-release Angrezi Medium when it is safe to do so.”
Before the Director made this announcement, the producer of Angrezi Medium, Dinesh Vijan issued an official statement that read, “Angrezi Medium has been a journey I shall cherish all my life. The one thing I”ve learnt from its making is that whatever be the obstacle, if we pour our heart and soul into something, the universe will have our back. As the film now reaches India, we have already received unabashed love from Dubai and other international territories. Due to unforeseen circumstances, it will however not release in Kerala, Delhi and Jammu & Kashmir. We hope for the same affection and support you”ve been giving us since day one. Our movie will reach these places when the time is right, but rest assured, just like Irrfan said, ”wait for us”.
The movie is about father-daughter bonding and how the father goes out his way to help his daughter realize her dream of studying abroad. It is a movie that highlights actor Irrfan’s acting prowess. It is quite a fun movie and deals with challenges of family to meet each others aspirations.
The nCOVID has hit the industry hard, and many filmmakers have announced postponement of the release of their movies. Some of them have also cancelled their shoot. Among them is Shahid Kapoor’s Jersey. YRF also announced Ranveer’s Jayeshbhai Jordaar will now release on Oct 2 and Farhan’s Toofan on Sept 18. Sooryavanshi have also announced delay of the film release.
