Kenny Rogers; Legendary Country Music Artist Leaves the World; Well known for his beautiful signature voice and albums like “The Gambler’ and who gave us beautiful Song #Lady’ passed away at the age of 81.
Kenny Rogers the famed Vocalist dominated the pop and country charts in the 1970s and 1980s . In a statement from the family – Rogers “passed away peacefully at home from natural causes under the care of hospice and surrounded by his family,” a representative for the singer said in a statement. Due to the national COVID-19 emergency, the family is planning a small private service at this time with a public memorial planned for a later date.”
The singer always enthralled his fans and music lovers around the world and he always said ” I could never properly thank them for the encouragement and support they’ve given me throughout my career and the happiness I’ve experienced as a result of that.”
His biggest block buster albums were with Lionel Ritche titled “Lady” and with Dolly Parton “Islands in the Stream” (penned by the Bee Gees). Songs that will be played for generations to come.
He charmed the world with his husky voice, and was a terrific story teller, in a live concert he describe how he and his friend Lionel penned the song Lady which became a record selling album.
Kenny Rogers was awarded Country Music Hall of Fame in 2013 and received a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Country Music Association the same year. His biggest songs were the Grammy-winning “The Gambler” (also No. 16 pop in 1978) and the “Coward of the County”.
Rogers announced his retirement in September 2015. He is survived by his last wife Wanda and five children
