ZEE5 to host Short Film Festival; Best of drama,Thriller, Comedy and More
It is a good news for TV movie audiences during the lock down period, which in most parts of India is getting extended as OTT platform Zee5 is hosting a Short Film Festival- a series of films nine films across binge watching, popular genres of love, drama, thriller, comedy, and family drama. It’s going to be short, and sweet, wholesome entertainer for the family.
The Short Film Festival premiere on April 15 on the OTT platform ZEE5 will feature short films which stars powerful actors like Nasseruddin Shah, Rhea Chakraborty Vikrany Massey, Rajeev Khandelwal, Sumeet Raghvan, and many other popular stars.
Announcing the Short Film Festival Programming Head of Zee5 India said “We are looking forward to premiering the Short Film Festival on April 15. Given the current scenario, the team at ZEE5 is pushing boundaries to provide its audience with unparalleled entertainment. The nine short films will also touch upon diverse conversation topics.”
Some of the engaging films are “Half Full”, a story about around two men having conflicting attitudes coming from two different worlds. In this short movie Vikrant and Naseeruddin will be seen playing lead roles in the Karan Rawal directorial.

Then there is ‘Seasons Greetings, which is about mother-daughter relationship, also, Manu Chobe’s “Heartbeat” stars Anupriya Goenka and Rajeev Khandelwal. It is about the character Saanvi is set to make the biggest decision of her life, but not before getting some answers about humans. The film
Based in Kolkata, “Seasons Greetings” is a tribute to late Bengali filmmaker Rituparno Ghosh and it touches upon human emotions, interwoven with many contemporary social aspects.
The short film also features “How about a Kiss?” featuring Rajat Kapoor and Ritabhari Chakraborty. Its about a student who falls in love with her professor.
Director Navjot Gulati’s “Second Hand”, starring Parul Gulati and Abhishek Banerjee, is about marriage, love and cheating is another interesting short film one would love to watch during the festival.
The other movies lined up in the festival is “Svah! So be it” – a family drama of a girl wanting to get married but she faces the most bizarre hurdle ever. Starring Shriya Pilgaonkar, Rajit Kapur and Shilpa Tulaskar, it is a Gauri Daswani directorial.
“Food for Thought”,a story about consequences when a broad minded family meets a conservative family.
The fest also includes “Strawberry Shake”, about a single father who tells his 19 year old daughter to treat him as a friend but things go wrong when she brings her boyfriend home, and Sonam Nair”s “Boom Noom”, a comedy film starring Rhea Chakraborty and Manjot Singh.
