Rajkummar Rao Says ‘Shikara’ is a Masterpiece, Laud Aadil, Sadia Work
Actor Rajkummar Rao, staying at home during the lock down like everyone else has been binge watching movies and his favorite of all is Shikara which is currently streaming in Amazon Prime Video.
The actor wrote ; Vindhu Vinod Chopra’s story about Kashmiri Pandits ‘Shikara’ is a masterpiece. He lauded the performance of new talents Aadil Khan and Sadia in the movie and penned down a personal message to these young actors.
This is a huge appreciation and inspiration from Rajkummar Rao to the young talents and will pave way for these actors to excel and perform even more when they step into their new projects.
Shikara is the Untold Story of Kashmiri Pandits’ forced exodus. It is the story of resilience in the face of insurmountable odds. It is also the story of a love that remains unextinguished through 30 years of exile. A timeless love story in the worst of times.
The story revolve around the massive evacuation of Kashmiri Pandits in 1990, the story uncovers the life of newly married young couple, Shiv Kumar Dhar (Aadil Khan) and Shanti Dhar (Sadia), who flee their homeland and take refuge at a camp in Jammu, with the promise that they will return home some day.
Debutants Sadia and Aadil Khan make an fabulous pair to watch on screen. Sadia, with her infectious smile is quite charming. The music by AR Rahman is equally beautiful and blends with the movie and story.
Meanwhile Rajkummar Rao is looking forward to his film release in june titled Chhalaang which will hit theaters on June 12th 2020.
