Review of DARK season 3 The time-twisting madness reaches its conclusion in a strange new world, where some things are quite familiar — and others are disturbingly not.

Dark is easily Netflix’s original series has a total of 26 episodes (Seasons 2 and 3 curtailed to 8 episodes each after Netflix’s changed format). Baran bo Odar does well as the director of the show, narrating the series beautifully, episode after episode uptill the finale.

The third season of Netflix hit Dark ensured that the very complex, enthralling show to an end in a terrific manner. The finale was as mind boggling and epic as the fans would have expected. But, in true Dark style, fans are still trying to figure out about the great ending.

The dialogues are very cleverly written, revealing just enough but not too much. But, we like to emphasize that viewers must watch season one and season two to understand portions that didn’t make sense before and get a grasp of why the characters did what they did. This is a show that gets better on repeat viewing and that is a rare feat. The casting team deserves special applause for choosing actors.

The world-building of Winden, a small town with a nuclear power plant in interior Germany, with the forests, lakes and desolate roads sets up the fear and trembling feel of the show. Being in German language does not reduce the impact of DARK show. The acting is superb with Louis Hofmann and Lisa Vicari playing Jonas and Martha as, the protagonists, and in a way the story revolves around the decisions their characters make.

The series has a complex finale as Jonas (Louis Hofmann) says, “it’s a bit complicated to explain”. Like the fact Charlotte may be her own Grandma… Yep, we’re as confused as you are. It is a journey that is interweaves season 1, 2 and season 3. In between the initial two worlds we know in Dark, Claudia (Julika Jenkins) – being somebody disconnected from the Nielsen family tree – discovered there was a third world, which she named the Origin World – because, you might have guessed it, it’s the ‘real world’.

What lingers in viewers mind is while Adam and Eva’s worlds have disappeared, but what is not so clear is why Hannah still has vivid memory of an event from the past. It could just be a way for the show’s writers to keep the fans wanting more.
