In a television interview Ranaut spoke in bold terms “They (Mumbai Police) summoned me, and I asked them too, that I’m in Manali, that you can send somebody to take my statement, but I have not received anything after that. I am telling you, if I have said anything, which I can’t testify, which I can’t prove, and which is not in public domain, I will return my Padma Shri,” Kangana told Republic TV.
Kangana continued, “Tomorrow, needy outsiders like Taapsee Pannu, Swara Bhasker will get up and say that they love this industry. I am only saying if you love this industry and if you love Karan Johar, then why are you not getting work like Alia or Ananya? Their whole existence is proof of nepotism. There will be articles that will make me look like a mad person after this, I know.”

Earlier this month, Kangana’s team had denied that the actress was called in by the Mumbai Police. Her team had tweeted on July 2, “Ms #KanganaRanaut hasn’t received any such request from @MumbaiPolice yet, but as and when she does, she is more than willing to co-operate.”

The actress name was linked with many cases filed against a few Bollywood personalities too. The actress was going to be witness in a case filed against Karan Johar, Salman Khan, Aditya Chopra, Sajid Nadiadwala, Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Bhushan Kumar, Ekta Kapoor and director Dinesh in Bihar’s local court. The case was eventually dismissed and advocate Sudhir Kumar Ojha promised to challenge the decision.
Sushant was found dead in his Bandra apartment on June 14. As per the autopsy report, the actor died due to asphyxia caused because of hanging. Kangana claimed that production houses YRF and Dharma worked in sync not to kill, but to see him fall. Kangana said, ” Sushant’s girlfriend at the time Rhea in her statement mentioned Mahesh Bhatt. How is he related? Bhatt’s first AD has written how Bhatt used to consel him. Who was Mahesh Bhatt in Sushant’s life? ‘You are not drifting but drowning, like Parveen Babi’, Bhatt’s AD said that. Even Abhishek Kapur said, “His death was a complete dismantling of a fragile mind.” Rajeev Masand called him a ‘rapist’, ‘drug addict’ in his blind items, aren’t they accountable for their claims?”
In her video, Kangana Ranaut had talked about the pressure Sushant was facing from Bollywood and the media. Questinoning whether it was suciide or murder, Kangana had bashed the journalists for writing blind items on Sushant.
The actor in her recent interview also added, “What was Mahesh Bhatt doing between Rhea and him? Everyone wants to know. Why is Mumbai Police not calling Mahesh Bhatt for questioning?”
