The Priest Movie Review: Mammootty has led the movie from the front, playing an extraordinary character as Fr. Benedict.
The Story: Fr. Benedict (Mammootty) is leading an independent life after quitting the priesthood. He is a private investigator who helps the police force solve mysterious cases. During one of such investigations, he meets Ameya Gabrielle (Baby Monica), an orphaned child. How Fr. Benedict solves the mysteries of Ameya and her favorite teacher Jessy’s (Nikhila Vimal) lives forms the crux of The Priest.
The super star succeeds in keeping your hooked to the film and hold the mysterious ambience around his character with his impeccable brilliance in voice modulation and mannerisms. Baby Monica, was a welcome surprise, standing out, by playing Ameya to near perfection (special applause to voice artist Nileena Aneesh).
The child actor gave us goosebumps at some of the most pivotal portions with her amazing acting skills. Manju Warrier, in the brief role as always leaves her mark as an intense performer. The other stars Nikhila Vimal, Venkitesh, TG Ravi, Ramesh Pisharody, Jagadish, Dinesh Panicker have chipped in well. Jofin T Chacko opens his account as director, with a fantastic direction of The Priest movie
The filmmaker has treated the subject a challenging genre, with conviction. Jofin, along with scriptwriters Shyam Menon and Deepu Pradeep, has delivered a splending movie experience that will leave the audience quite satisfied after leaving the theatre.
The highlight The Priest is that the movie emerges as a wholesome horror experience, that one would expect and beyond. Even the characters with the minimal screen time make an impact in the narrative. The director also takes the audience into an absolutely unpredictable ride.

The storytelling engrosses the viewers and keeps them on tented hooks. Even though there are some moments where the plot seemed a bit lagging, the next moment it makes you feel that it is back on track.
