July 14, 2026: Days after revealing that she and actor Gaurav Khanna are heading for divorce, Akanksha Chamola has once again opened up about one of the most personal chapters of her life on Lock Upp 2. In the latest episode, the actor spoke about relationships, sexuality, marriage and why she no longer sees herself getting married again.
During a heartfelt conversation with fellow contestant Varun Yadav inside the Lock Upp cell, Akanksha admitted that her ongoing divorce has left a lasting impact on her outlook towards relationships. When Varun asked if she would ever consider remarrying, she replied that she has no such plans.
“Mere ko darr baith gaya hain (A deep fear has set in),” she said, explaining why the idea of marriage no longer appeals to her.
The conversation later turned to sexuality, with Akanksha sharing her perspective on how personal experiences can influence one’s feelings over time. She explained that, for her, sexuality is not fixed and can change depending on emotional circumstances.
“Sexuality keeps changing. Aap ke phases ke upar hota hain ki… mera abhi divorce ho raha hain mujhe abhi kisi se sex nahi chahiye. Ladkiyo ke saath bhi nahi chahiye, admiyo ke saath bhi nahi chahiye. Mera alag phase chal raha hain isey kehte hain asexual,” she said, adding that she currently has no interest in intimacy with either men or women because of the phase she is going through.
Her latest remarks come shortly after she revealed at the show’s premiere that she identified as bisexual before marrying Gaurav Khanna. She had also shared that she never felt a strong desire to become a mother.
Akanksha Chamola: ‘I’m Asexual Right Now’
In another conversation with co-contestant Pamela, Akanksha Chamola reflected on getting married at a young age. “I got married so young; I was 24 when I married,” she said.
When Pamela told her she could still find love again, Akanksha responded that she has made peace with the idea of staying single. “I don’t want to get married again. I think I am done. But for the first time in my life, main akeli rehne waali hoon. Like, not under my parents’ roof or my husband’s roof. I am going to have my own house. I am going to ride solo for life now,” she shared.
In subsequent episodes, the actor also spoke about one of the reasons behind her decision to end her marriage. According to Akanksha, she never developed a maternal instinct, although she initially believed those feelings might emerge with time.
“Jab hum shaadi mein the, mera maternal instinct kabhi nahi tha. But I was open to discovering it, and it was never shut down. Gradually, however, I realised that I am not meant for it, and he was okay with that. But I guess, in time, that shifted,” she said.
Akanksha Chamola and Gaurav Khanna tied the knot on November 24, 2016, in Kanpur. While the actor has been candid about the challenges she has faced in her personal life on Lock Upp 2, Gaurav has not publicly responded to her recent statements.
