Alia Bhatt Spills New hidden Secrets about SADAK 2 ; Actress Alia Bhatt is thrilled as she makes dream debut in a film directed by her father. The actress revealed it was her dream since her growing years, when she used to get excited by the talk going around her that her father Mahesh Bhatt films have super-duper songs, songs that leave lasting music nostalgia. They are also timeless.
She added, the one big secret about SADAK 2 is the villain, it will be totally a different villain, and will surely be the most talked about as much as the first SADAK Maharani character played by, Sadashiv Dattaray Amrapurkar he was ferocious and overpowering in the Sanjay Dutt movie. It was an iconic villain character created by Mahesh Bhatt, and as powerful as GABBAR in Sholay played by Amjad Khan.
For his role, Sadashiv received the Filmfare Award for Best Performance in a Negative Role in 1991 for Sadak — the first time the award was instituted.
Revealing more secrets about the movie which will premiere on Disney Plus Hotstar in a conversation with Varun Dhawan, Alia Said, this is continuation of Ravi’s Journey, in SADAK 2 she says Ravi meets 2 new characters.
She further reaffirmed to watch out the for the villain in the sequel as she said Iconic Maharani, the villain is very different. She further added she excited that she is acting with pride in fathers film known for their wonderful songs. It’s a dream come true that she is proud, she is part of the Bhatt camp in a small way.
Sadak (transl. Road) was a romantic Thriller by Mahesh Bhatt in 1991 in Hindi-language featured Sanjay Dutt and Pooja Bhatt. The film became one the one of the highest-grossing Hindi movies of the year 1991 with a popular musical score.
The film also created a big hype and is remembered even now for the late Sadashiv Amrapurkar’s award-winning performance as the film’s villain, Maharani. Maharani (Sadashiv Amrapurkar) played the role of an evil transgender pimp that runs a brothel, who employs many girls such as Pooja (Pooja Bhatt) and Chanda (Neelima Azeem). The story revolves around Ravi (Sanjay Dutt), a taxi driver, meets Pooja before she is bought by Maharani, and his friend Gotya (Deepak Tijori) is in love with Chanda.
The film Sadak made 27 years ago was inspired by the 1976 American movie Taxi Driver. This film was remade in Tamil as Appu (2000), directed by Vasanth with actor Prashanth and Devayani in lead roles, with Prakash Raj as the antagonist.
The sequel sequel Sadak 2 currently in production is also being remade into bangaldeshi (bengali) and will feature star siam ahmed,nirob hossain,mousumi & bapparaj in leading roles.Actor omor sunny will be playing the lead antagonist in this film.
The soundtrack of the movie is composed by the music duo Nadeem Shravan. All songs were sung by Anuradha Paudwal along with Kumar Sanu, Abhijeet Bhattacharya, Manhar Udhas, Debashish Dasgupta, Junaid Akhtar & Babla Mehta.
Reportedly, The film’s soundtrack album sold 5 million units, becoming one of the top three best-selling Bollywood soundtracks of the year.The song “Tumhein Apna Banaane Ki” is a popular number till date. In turn, a remade version of the song was used for 2015 film Hate Story 3.
The casting of SADAK was also very impressive with Sanjay Dutt playing the role of taxi driver Ravi, Pooja Bhatt as Pooja, Deepak Tijori as Gotya and Sadashiv Amrapurkar as Maharani, the ‘eunuch’ brothel madam.
The movie also had Alia Bhatt’s mother Soni Razdan playing the role of Roopa.
