August 5, 2024: Chiyaan Vikram’s much-anticipated film, Thangalaan, directed by Pa Ranjith, is has embarked on a promotion overdrive. It starts with a special screening for ‘KGF’ star Yash. The historical drama, set against the backdrop of the Kolar Gold Fields (KGF) in Karnataka, promises to delve deeper into the region’s tumultuous history compared to its portrayal in Yash’s blockbuster KGF.

Sources close to the production team revealed that the creators of Thangalaan are organizing this special event to offer Yash an early glimpse of the film. The narrative of Thangalaan focuses on the historical oppression faced by the miners in KGF, a theme that distinguishes it from the action-centric approach of KGF. The film, scheduled for release on August 15 in multiple languages, aims to provide a richer, more nuanced exploration of the area’s past.

In addition to this exclusive screening, Thangalaan will mark its audio launch with a grand event at the Chennai Trade Centre on August 5. This event follows a successful promotional gathering held in Hyderabad on August 4. After the Chennai launch, the promotional team will take the film to Kochi, Bengaluru, and Mumbai to generate buzz before its theatrical release.

The film’s star-studded cast includes Chiyaan Vikram, Malavika Mohanan, Pasupathy, Parvathy Thiruvothu, Daniel Caltagirone, and Harikrishnan Anbudurai. The screenplay, co-written by Pa Ranjith, Tamil Prabha, and Azhagiral Periyavan, is expected to be a powerful narrative. Production responsibilities are shared by Studio Green and Neelam Productions, with musical score by GV Prakash Kumar, editing by RK Selva, and cinematography by A Kishore Kumar.

As anticipation builds, Thangalaan is set to offer a compelling and informative portrayal of the Kolar Gold Fields, inviting audiences to experience a pivotal chapter of history through the lens of Pa Ranjith’s visionary storytelling.
