August 1, 2024: “Citadel: Honey Bunny,” the highly anticipated Indian edition of the popular “Citadel” franchise release date has been set. Prime Video has officially announced the global premiere date for . The series, set against a nostalgic 1990s backdrop, stars Varun Dhawan and Samantha in leading roles and is set to premiere globally on November 7.
“Citadel: Honey Bunny” is helmed by the acclaimed directing duo Raj & DK (Raj Nidimoru and Krishna D.K.) and features a screenplay by Sita R. Menon in collaboration with Raj & DK. Produced by D2R Films and Amazon MGM Studios, the series is executive produced by the Russo Brothers’ AGBO, with Anthony Russo, Joe Russo, Angela Russo-Otstot, and Scott Nemes, alongside David Weil (“Hunters”), playing pivotal roles in the production. Midnight Radio also joins as an executive producer.
The ensemble cast of the series includes notable actors such as Kay Kay Menon, Simran, Saqib Saleem, Sikandar Kher, Soham Majumdar, Shivankit Parihar, and Kashvi Majmundar.
The premiere date was revealed during an exclusive fan event in Mumbai, where Prime Video also released a teaser for the series. “Citadel: Honey Bunny” promises a riveting blend of spy action thriller elements and a compelling love story, encapsulated within the 1990s era.

Samantha, who previously appeared in Raj & DK’s Prime Video series “The Family Man” Season 2, and Menon, known for her role in “Farzi,” another Prime Video series, are set to deliver powerful performances in this new installment.

The release of “Citadel: Honey Bunny” will follow the Italian series “Citadel: Diana,” which is set to premiere on October 10. The original “Citadel” series, starring Richard Madden and Priyanka Chopra Jonas, debuted in 2023, with a second season already in production under the direction of Joe Russo.
