December 1, 2025: Tere Ishk Mein, the emotionally charged romantic drama featuring Dhanush and Kriti Sanon, has delivered a powerful start at the global box office, closing its opening weekend with an estimated ₹67 crore gross worldwide. Riding on strong word of mouth, the film has emerged as one of the most promising romantic releases of the year.

Directed by Aanand L. Rai, the film has drawn comparisons to Rai’s 2013 hit Raanjhanaa, not as a direct sequel, but as a spiritual successor echoing similar themes of passion, heartbreak and the chaos of young love. Early reviews from critics and audiences alike reflect appreciation for its emotional depth and the intense performances of the lead pair.

Tere Ishk Mein Box office momentum

Industry tracker Sacnilk reports that Tere Ishk Mein collected approximately ₹61 crore gross in India over its first three days, underscoring strong domestic reception. Overseas markets contributed over ₹6 crore, pushing the global weekend tally to around ₹67 crore gross.

The film opened solidly on Friday with ₹16 crore net, followed by a healthier Saturday at ₹17 crore and a robust Sunday finish of ₹19 crore, supported by strong evening and night show performance.

On Day 3, the film earned ₹18.25 crore from the Hindi version and an additional ₹75 lakh from the Tamil version. The movie is running in both languages, broadening its reach across markets.

By the end of its opening weekend, Tere Ishk Mein had amassed ₹52 crore net in India, with ₹49.75 crore coming from Hindi and ₹2.25 crore from Tamil.

Occupancy Trends: Urban Centres Lead the Surge

Sunday saw a steady rise in theatre crowds, with the film securing an overall 32.82% Hindi occupancy:

  • Morning shows: 14.32%
  • Afternoon shows: 38.60%
  • Evening shows: 45.63%
  • Night shows: 32.74%

Major metros including Mumbai, Delhi–NCR, Chennai, Pune, and Hyderabad posted strong occupancy levels, while several mass belts also performed better than expected, indicating wider acceptance beyond urban centres.
