Saturday, March 21, 2026: Dhurandhar 2 has exploded onto the big screen with a thunderous start, setting the box office on fire and grabbing attention from both audiences and industry heavyweights.
The Ranveer Singh-led action drama kicked off with impressive paid previews on March 18, pulling in ₹43 crore nett in India. The early buzz translated globally too, with the film collecting nearly ₹75 crore worldwide even before its official release, despite facing a few show disruptions in select regions.
The real surge came on opening day. The film raked in a massive ₹102.55 crore nett in India, pushing its combined total with previews to ₹145.55 crore in just one day. Globally, the numbers surged further, with ₹165 crore earned on day one alone, taking the overall worldwide haul to around ₹240 crore within its first 48 hours.
The scale of the opening signals strong audience turnout and growing momentum, positioning the film as one of the biggest early performers of the year.
Adding to the buzz, filmmaker S. S. Rajamouli publicly praised the film, calling it a sequel that surpasses the original in both “scale and soul.” He highlighted the film’s writing, performances, and technical finesse, while noting that its emotional depth keeps viewers invested throughout its lengthy runtime.
Rajamouli also singled out Ranveer Singh’s performance, describing it as captivating from start to finish, and praised R. Madhavan for portraying the emotional weight of his character with striking authenticity.
On day two, Dhurandhar 2 saw collections ease slightly, earning ₹80.72 crore across 20,125 shows in India. The Hindi version remained the clear driver with ₹78.94 crore, while regional versions contributed modestly, Telugu brought in ₹1.30 crore, Tamil ₹0.44 crore, and Kannada and Malayalam saw negligible traction.

The second-day numbers reflected a 21% dip from the opening day, with overall occupancy hovering around 62.6%.
Despite the drop, the film’s momentum remains strong. Including previews and the first two days, the Ranveer Singh-starrer has amassed ₹226.27 crore net in India, with total gross collections nearing ₹269 crore.
Dhurandhar 2 has already raced past multiple benchmarks, crossing ₹200 crore within two days and outperforming recent titles like Fighter. It now inches closer to the numbers set by War.
