July 16, 2024: The conflict between television star Digangana Suryavanshi and producer-director Manish Harishankar is intensifying. After Harishankar lodged a complaint against Suryavanshi, the actress has now retaliated by sending a defamation notice to the creators of ‘Showstopper’.

Manish Harishankar, the director and producer of ‘Showstopper‘, recently accused Digangana Suryavanshi of making false promises and misappropriating funds from his team. In response, Suryavanshi has taken legal action against Harishankar, issuing a defamation notice and filing a complaint under multiple sections of the Indian Penal Code. Media reports indicate that Suryavanshi’s complaint includes allegations under sections 420, 406, 509, 499, 500, 503, 506, 63, 199, and 211.

Suryavanshi has vehemently denied all allegations made by Harishankar. Harishankar had previously accused the actress of extortion and criminal breach of trust. MH Films, the production house behind ‘Showstopper’, filed a police complaint against Suryavanshi, accusing her of cheating and breach of trust under IPC Sections 420 and 406.

    Digangana Suryavanshi dismisses Harishankar’s Claims

Responding to these accusations, Digangana Suryavanshi dismissed Harishankar’s claims as fabricated. “This is all a lie. This is just a cheap publicity stunt to drag names. Clearly, he is trying to find a scapegoat. I do not want to waste time explaining further. I have already wasted a lot of time trying to help him,” stated the ‘Veer Ki Ardas Veera’ actress.

Suryavanshi’s lawyer disclosed that the actress had secured Akshay Kumar‘s approval to join ‘Showstopper’ as a presenter under a business agreement, which Harishankar allegedly failed to honor.

“We would like to officially state that all the allegations leveled against our client Digangana are completely baseless and are the result of someone’s criminal intent and an attempt to hide their shortcomings,” the lawyer affirmed. According to media reports, the project has stalled due to a financial crisis, with some investors reportedly not receiving their payments.

As the legal battle continues, the situation between Digangana Suryavanshi and Manish Harishankar underscores the complexities and challenges within the entertainment industry, particularly when financial and contractual disputes arise.
