Malayalam film industry suffered a profound loss as esteemed Director Siddique passed away at the age of 69 on On August 8. The widely popular director had been admitted to Kochi’s Amrita Hospital in critical condition following a heart attack on August 7, 2023, at approximately 3 pm. Despite receiving intensive medical care, Siddique’s health remained critical, leaving the industry and fans in deep sorrow. The news of his demise prompted an outpouring of grief from various celebrities who took to social media platforms to express their condolences.
Celebrities Mourn the Demise of Director Siddique
The widely acclaimed Malayalam filmmaker, Siddique, breathed his last on August 8. He had been rushed to Amrita Hospital in Kochi after experiencing a heart attack on the preceding Monday. Before the heart attack, Director Siddique had been undergoing treatment for pneumonia and liver disease. Notably, he was being assisted by an Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO) machine during his ailment.
Mammootty, through a heartfelt Facebook post, conveyed his condolences. Roughly translated, his message read, “The departure of dear ones continues… the unbearable pain it inflicts… Farewell to our own Siddique.”
Mohanlal also shared his sentiments on Facebook, with words that could be translated to, “I can’t fathom the loss of my dear Siddique. Through his natural humor and portrayal of common life challenges, Siddique endeared himself to Malayalees worldwide. His untimely departure leaves us profoundly saddened. With his diverse themes and directorial allure, millions eagerly awaited each of Siddique’s films. He made us laugh, cry, instilled hope, and served as a role model through his life’s journey. Siddique lived humbly, shunning extravagance, and his words and actions exuded kindness, devoid of hostility. From Kannumnattu to his final work Big Brother, I had the privilege of working with him, and he was indeed like a big brother to me in both cinema and life. My heartfelt condolences in this time of anguish.”
Keerthy Suresh shared a poignant picture of Siddique, accompanied by a heartbroken emoji, while Prabhudeva expressed, “Rest in peace. My deepest condolences to the family.”
