First Winner of Hunarbaaz Desh Ki Shaan, Akash Singh has outclassed all his competition and become the the first winner of this contest and take home a cash prize of ₹15 lakh. He had the grit, determination and focus to work his way up to win the coveted title.
From being a watchman, to delivering milk at doorstep, the humble man, wants to build a home for his parents with the prize money he won. Akash also shared his challenging audition moments, while he felt very nervous he was thankful that Parineeti Chopra motivated him to stay focused. She also called him her brother, and presented him with a jacket and shoes. In return, Akash gifted her a saree.
Yo Highness, the dance group from Mumbai’s Nala Sopara, bagged the runner-up and got a cash prize of ₹5 lakh
Yo Highness, Band Rocknama, Band Harmony of the Pines, Sanchita and Shubhroto, Ustaad Anirban, and Sukhdeb were others who fought for the title.
So what made Akash Singh the champion he is – on the show, Akash Singh gave electrifying dance performances and established himself as a promising Hunarbaaz title contender early on. After winning the show, Akash expressed, “I can’t find the words to express the emotions that I am going through, and it all feels so surreal! I had started my journey on the show with a dream to make it big and today after winning the show I feel like I have fulfilled every bit of it.”
In an an interview early on , he opened up about his journey on the reality show. “When I had come for the audition, I hadn’t expected whether I would win or not as there were many talented people out there. But after entering the show, I worked even harder, made my way up, and finally won the show now,” says Akash, who started doing the aerial acts from 2016.

Akash Singh hails from Bhagalpur in Bihar. He added, “I would like to thank Karan sir, Mithun sir and Parineeti ma’am for guiding me throughout the show, and to COLORS for giving me this opportunity of a lifetime. Lastly, I want to thank my family and friends for having my back and supporting me in this life-changing journey.”
In an interview earlier, Akash expressed his desire to work in the film industry, and with Akshay Kumar someday.
On the show, Karan Johar, Mithun Chakraborty and Parineeti Chopra were on the judges’ panel while Bharti Singh and Haarsh Limbachiyaa were the hosts.
On the finale episode on Sunday, Karan Johar and Nora Fatehi danced to her popular song Kusu Kusu. Neetu Singh, who was also a special guest on the show, also danced with the filmmaker on Radha (Student of The Year) and Dholida from Alia Bhatt’s recent film Gangubai Kathiawadi.
Hunarbaaz: Desh Ki Shaan premiered in January this year on Colors, and concluded today with Akash Singh announced as the winner of this season.
