Hyderabad, June 18, 2025 – Renowned for his soulful, heartwarming dramas, filmmaker Sekhar Kammula is set to break away from his signature storytelling style with Kuberaa, an intense social drama scheduled to hit screens on June 20, 2025. Featuring powerhouse performers Nagarjuna Akkineni, Dhanush, and Rashmika Mandanna, the film promises a gripping cinematic experience with music by Devi Sri Prasad of Pushpa fame.
For a director synonymous with poetic narratives and breezy romances, Kuberaa marks a striking tonal shift. Speaking about the film’s long development cycle, Kammula shared, “It took me over three years to bring Kuberaa to life. Shooting in Mumbai posed several challenges, be it navigating narrow alleys, acquiring permits, or directing stars of such high caliber.”

While buzz swirled around a potential collaboration with actor Nani, Kammula was quick to set the record straight. “I’ve always admired Nani’s work, and we’ve spoken about teaming up. But as of now, there’s no project in motion. The news doing rounds is completely baseless,” the Godavari director clarified.
Fans, however, continue to root for a Kammula-Nani film, believing their creative synergy could deliver cinematic magic. Sekhar himself doesn’t rule it out. “I’d love to work with Nani when the right story comes along. He’s evolved into a major star, and I’d want to offer something unique,” he added.
