“Gadar 2” has gracefully stepped into the spotlight, achieving a remarkable feat by establishing a fresh record for second-weekend box office collections. Eclipsing the prior benchmark set by the iconic “Baahubali,” this triumph marks a turning point in Bollywood’s history, reflecting the evolving tastes of audiences and the industry’s ability to continually raise the bar for excellence.

The prior record holder for this achievement was Prabhas’ monumental “Baahubali 2,” which also left an indelible mark on Indian cinema by amassing ₹80.75 crore during its second weekend run.

Directed by Anil Sharma, Gadar 2 featuring Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel in lead roles, garnered an impressive ₹90.47 crore within its second weekend alone, spanning three days.

This accomplishment underscores the power of storytelling and its ability to draw audiences into immersive worlds, leaving a lasting impact that extends well beyond the theater walls. With this groundbreaking achievement, “Gadar 2” paves the way for a new era of cinematic achievements, setting a precedent that future releases will undoubtedly strive to follow.

Notable films like Aamir Khan’s “Dangal” (₹73.70 crore), Shah Rukh Khan’s “Pathan” (₹63.50 crore), and “Sanju” (₹62.97 crore) hold positions in the third, fourth, and fifth spots on this illustrious list, respectively.

Despite facing competition from Akshay Kumar’s “OMG 2” at the box office, “Gadar2 exhibited a spectacular performance, even prompting the film’s team to host a press conference celebrating its resounding success.

Interestingly, “Gadar 2” experienced a minor drop in earnings on the second Monday after its release, reeling in ₹14 crore according to reports from Sacnilk.com. Sunny Deol, one of the lead actors, shared his emotional reaction to the audience’s overwhelming response to the film. He confessed, “I was quite stressed before the release of the movie. When the movie was released, I cried and laughed the entire night. My father was around and he saw me. I told him, ‘I have not had alcohol. Main khush aa main ki kara (I am happy, what can I do)’.”

For those unfamiliar with the film, “Gadar 2” is a sequel to the 2001 hit “Gadar: Ek Prem Katha,” which starred Sunny Deol as Tara Singh, a truck driver, and Ameesha Patel as Sakeena. Set against the backdrop of India’s partition in 1947, the original film left an indelible mark on cinema history, and its sequel seems to be continuing the legacy with its remarkable box office performance.
