Hungama 2, The Priyadarashan comedy film, featuring Paresh Rawal, Shilpa Shetty, Meezaan Jaffrey and Pranitha Subhash is expected to premiere directly on Disney+Hotstar.

The Buzz and according to sources from the trade “The shoot has been wrapped up and the makers have got a lucrative deal from the streaming platform. Things are locked verbally and the producers, Ratan Jain, Chetan Jain and Ganesh Jain, are on the verge of closing the financials,” revealed a source close to the development.

The formalities is expected to be concluded soon, post which an official announcement will be made by the team of Hotstar. “It’s going to be a slate of new Hindi films that the platform will announce. Last year, it was Laxmii, Bhuj, Khuda Hafiz, Sadak 2 and Big Bull. For 2021, they have Bhoot Police and Hungama 2 in their kitty, and are in talks with three more films. An announcement will follow once paper work for all the films is done,” the source added.

Hungama 2 to arrive on Disney + Hotstar

The comedy reel is a sequel to 2003 cult, Hungama, that featured Akshaye Khanna, Aftab Shivdasani, Paresh Rawal and Rimi Sen in lead. While the cast for sequel has been changed, the word on the film streets are , Akshaye has a cameo in Hungama 2 and the makers are looking to take their audience by surprise. “It’s a fun character and will bring the house down with laughter,” the source mentions.

Interestingly, the two buys from the digital platform fall in the comic space with mass appeal, and we believe the idea to get these films is to get leverage on the satellite as comedies tend to do well on TV.

Hungama 2 Movie

Hungama 2 features four child artists aged between eight to 11-years and have been growing steadily in height. Director Priyadarshan expressed his concern on the matter and the film’s shooting in a recent interview with a leading daily. He said that at this age, children grow up rapidly.

The filmmaker stated that there are changes in facial structure and height. He added that while the physical changes that have happened in the past four months will not make a huge difference on screen, it will be difficult for them to maintain continuity if they have to wait for some more months. Priyadarshan noted that they “fortunately” have to shoot only a song with the kids.

The Hera Pheri director is making a comeback in Bollywood after seven years. The Hungama 2 cast along with the crew will be heading to Kullu and Manali for the final 15-day schedule. The team will follow the necessary guidelines and they will self-quarantine before resuming the shoot.
