Jailer Rajinikanth, special screening in Lucknow, followed the super star making a visit to Ayodhya on August 20. As a part of his Uttar Pradesh tour, as the Tamil cinema icon paid a visit to the residence of Samajwadi Party Chief Akhilesh Yadav in Lucknow.

Rajinikanth, speaking to the press, revealed the enduring nature of their friendship, saying, “I met Akhilesh Yadav 9 years ago at a function in Mumbai and we are friends since then, we talk on the phone.”

Sharing snapshots of their heartwarming encounter, Akhilesh Yadav, took to his social media handle to express his joy, stating, “When hearts meet, people embrace. The happiness I used to feel seeing Rajinikanth ji on the screen during my engineering studies in Mysore is still intact. We met in person 9 years back and have been friends ever since…”

Jailer Rajinikanth Meets Yogi, Akhilesh in UP

Prior to his rendezvous with Akhilesh Yadav, Jailer Rajinikanth also had the pleasure of visiting Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath at his residence in Lucknow. The actor arrived in the city on Friday night, marking his presence at the ‘Jailer’ film screening, which was graced by the attendance of UP Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya.

Praising Rajinikanth’s remarkable acting prowess, Maurya commended, “I also got a chance to watch the movie ‘Jailer’. Rajinikanth is such a talented actor that even though there is not much content in the movie, he elevates its importance through his performance.”

In an exclusive interview with a news agency A N I, Rajinikanth expressed his elation over the enthusiastic response ‘Jailer’ has received from the audience, attributing its success to a divine blessing, stating, “…It’s God’s blessing that the movie is becoming a hit.”

Jailer,’ which premiered in theaters on August 10, has taken the box office by storm, with its total collection reaching a staggering ₹235.65 crore within just eight days (as of August 17). The film was released in multiple languages, including Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi.

In ‘Jailer,’ Rajinikanth portrays a grief-stricken father seeking vengeance for the death of his police officer son. The movie features significant cameo appearances by Mohanlal, Shivarajkumar, and Jackie Shroff.

Directed by Nelson Dilipkumar and produced by Sun Pictures, ‘Jailer’ boasts an impressive ensemble cast, including Rajinikanth, Tamanna Bhatia, Ramya Krishnan, Mohanlal, Jackie Shroff, Shivarajkumar, Sunil Varma, Yogi Babu, and Vasanth Ravi, all of whom play pivotal roles in the riveting narrative.
