Lata Di ( Lata Mangeshkar as she is fondly known) , the most loved playback singer is on road to recovery yet it is a challenging says the doctors who are treating here. The recent report is Lata di who was admitted to Mumbai’s Breach Candy Hospital earlier last month, after testing positive for COVID-19, is still in the ICU and is on a ventilator according to medical health bulletin and reports on Saturday.
The singer, 92, was also being treated for pneumonia as well. She recovered from COVID-19 and pneumonia in late January.
Dr Pratit Samdani from Breach Candy Hospital, who has been treating Lata Mangeshkar , says singer is “currently in the ICU and has once again been put on ventilator support, due to her worsened condition, for which she will remain under observation.”
Dr Pratit Samdani added, “She is under aggressive therapy. We are continuously observing her. She continues to be in ICU, she is under serious observation. Her treatment is going on in Breach Candy hospital.”
Meanwhile, the singer’s team has actively been sharing updates on her health in order to dismiss any rumours.
Lata Mangeshkar‘s musical gems need no introduction. She has sung in Hindi, Marathi, Bengali and other regional languages. She has been honoured with the Bharat Ratna, Padma Vibhushan, Padma Bhushan and Dadasaheb Phalke Award as well as several National and Filmfare Awards. Lata Mangeshkar’s last complete album was for 2004 Bollywood release Veer-Zaara.
