Vijay Deverakonda fans got their biggest treat from their Hero, as he unveiled Liger. Fans immediately went into a big frenzy. The new promo introduces Deverakonda as a fiery boxer with great strength and punch. Liger main character played by him – is a chaiwala in Mumbai who goes on to take part in MMA bouts. The film will arrive in the theatres on August 25, 2022.
Liger is under production for over two years. The film’s post- production and release were delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The producers of the movie recently flew to Los Angeles to shoot key sequences of the movie with boxing legend Mike Tyson.
The Arjun Reddy actor promised to share a glimpse of Liger on the eve of New Year. As promised, Vijay Deverakonda took to social media to share the YouTube link to the Liger promo. He wrote, “Glimpse. That’s it. #LigerFirstGlimpse #Liger (sic).”
In the promo, Deverakonda from showing aggression to punching his opponents to a pulp, Vijay Deverakonda has impressed us all with his boxing avatar.
Liger is a boxing centered film directed by Puri Jagannadh. The Telugu-Hindi bilingual will see Vijay Deverakonda and Ananya Panday playing lead roles. Earlier this year, the Liger team took everyone by surprise by roping in boxing legend Mike Tyson for a key role in the film.

“We are Indians,” Vijay Deverakonda’s Liger declares in one scene, and later says, “Wat laga denge (We’ll kick your butts),” as he challenges his opponents. MMA, as a sport, has been underrepresented in movies. Perhaps the most widely acclaimed example of an MMA film is the Tom Hardy, Joel Edgerton-starrer Warrior. Additionally, Halle Berry made her directorial debut earlier this year with the MMA film Bruised, and Nick Jonas appeared in a supporting role in the television show Kingdom, which was set in the world of MMA.
While Liger marks Vijay Deverakonda’s Hindi debut, Ananya Panday will foray into Tollywood with this film. Liger is jointly produced by Puri Jagannadh, Charmme Kaur and Karan Johar.
