RRR Movie creator SS Rajamouli, whose film is the buzz word at the Oscars in the private category is seemingly enjoying his trip in Los Angeles. Rajamouli met JJ Abrams and posed for a photo with him, a huge fan of RRR while attending the Governors Awards in Los Angeles on Sunday while RRR was receiving Oscar buzz.
The picture surfaced on social media and fans went berserk with reactions, calling it a huge moment for Rajamouli. Meanwhile, SS Rajamouli has confirmed the sequel to RRR 2, says his father V Vijayendra Prasad is working on the story.
Several celebrities who receive honorary statuettes attend the Governors Awards presentation, which serves as an Oscars prelude event. Rajamouli may be seen posing with JJ Abrams while wearing a black tuxedo in a photo posted by the official Twitter account of the RRR movie website.

The tweet by RRR Movie read: “And the foRRRce continues to be with #RRRMovie Hollywood filmmaker @JJAbrams, the director of Star Wars, Mission Impossible and many other remarkable movies, said that he is a huge fan of #RRR. Glad to see @SSRajamouli meet him at the Governors Awards (sic).”
In the comments section, fans called it a huge moment for Rajamouli, and said he’s truly gone global. A fan reacted, “This is fricking huge. #JJAbrams”. Another wrote, “Rajamouli has gone global.” Some fans even praised Rajamouli’s suited-up look. A comment read, “Glad he made an effort. Would have been epic if he was in his usual audio launch look if checked shirt, jeans and flip flops,” read a comment.
The Governors Awards signal the official start of the Oscar campaign. Rajamouli was signed by American talent agency Creative Artists Agency a day after RRR was passed over (CAA).
Is RRR based on True Story?
RRR is a fictional story based on the lives of Alluri Sitarama Raju and Komaram Bheem, two well-known rebels who lived in the pre-independence era of the 1920s. Tarak, often known as Jr. NTR, was portrayed as Bheem while Ram Charan played Ram. With over 1000 crore in gross receipts against a roughly 300 crore budget, the movie became one of the highest-grossing Indian movies ever.

The film starring Jr NTR, Ram Charan, and Alia Bhatt was not selected as India’s official entry to the Oscar 2023 awards. However, now there is hope for the film, as the makers are reportedly pushing for the mega film in 14 categories under the ‘For Your Consideration’ (FYC) campaign.
The film which was made on a whopping budget of Rs 550 crore went on to gross over Rs 1,200 crore at the box-office worldwide. Reportedly, the 14 categories under which the film is being considered include Best Director for SS Rajamouli, Best Actor Jr NTR and Ram Charan, Best Supporting Actor and Actress for Ajay Devgn and Alia Bhatt respectively.
Meanwhile, the foot-tapping number ‘Naatu Naatu’ is being pushed for the Best Original Song category and MM Keeravani is being nominated for Best Original Score.
Apart from performances and music, ‘RRR’ is also being nominated for categories such as Best Original Screenplay, Best Costume Design, Best Sount, Best Production Design, Best Editing, and Best Makeup and Hairstyling.
The film which was released on March 25, went on to shatter several box-office records to emerge as the most successful Indian film during the pandemic. Owing to the restrictions imposed in the wake of the pandemic, the release date of the film was changed multiple times. It was released Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam and Hindi in 2D, 3D and IMAX formats worldwide. The film was reportedly released on over 10,000 screens in India and abroad.
