Raj Kundra, Shilpa Shetty’s husband continues to be in deep trouble as the Maharashtra Cyber Police in a new charge sheet has accused Businessman Raj Kundra of producing pornographic content for monetary gains.
The entertainment portal also revealed that Raj Kundra was accused by the Cyber Police, along with Sherlyn Chopra, Poonam Pandey, film producer Meeta Jhunjhunwala, and cameraman Raju Dubey, of filming obscene or pornographic videos in five-star hotels.
Nearly two months have passed since Raj Kundra wrote the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to assert his innocence. He claimed that the case was based on a businessman’s personal grudge who colluded with law enforcement to have him arrested.
Kundra also asked the government agency to look into the case and went on to say that the Mumbai Crime Branch’s top officers had set him up. “I have lived in silence for one year; ripped apart by a media trial and spent 63 days in Arthur Road Jail. I seek justice from the courts, which I know I will get, and I humbly request an investigation against these officers,” Kundra had written in his letter as reported by Mid-Day.
Raj Kundra was detained in July of last year on suspicion of producing and uploading pornographic videos to mobile apps. After almost two months, bail was approved for him.
Raj Kundra slams trolls
Earlier this year, the business tycoon took to Twitter and shared a note slamming those trolling him in connection to the case. “One Year Today released from #ArthurRoad. Its a matter of time Justice will be served! The truth will be out soon! Thank you well wishers and a bigger thank you to the trollers you make me stronger 🙏 #enquiry #word #mediatrial #trollers. If you don’t know the whole story..shut up!!” he had written.
How did Raj Kundra Make his money?
According to the charge sheet, which was obtained by E-Times, Shilpa Shetty’s husband allegedly produced porn in a few five-star hotels, which was subsequently made available on OTT platforms.
Businessman Raj Kundra tied the knot with Shilpa Shetty on November 22, 2009, at a private lavish ceremony in Khandala. They are parents to a son, Viaan, who was born in 2012, and a daughter, Samisha, whom they welcomed in 2020 via surrogacy.
Other people implicated alongside Shilpa Shettys husband Raj Kundra include Sherlyn Chopra, Poonam Pandey, Meeta Jhunjhunwala, and cameraman Raju Dubey. The charge sheet also claimed that all four of them distributed pornographic content on different OTT platforms in order to profit.
The Mumbai Police Crime Branch had previously filed separate chargesheets in April and September of 2021 in the high-profile pornographic racket case that surfaced following a raid at a bungalow on Madh Island in February.
Where is Kundra now?
After the high-profile case was exposed in the swoop by the Mumbai Police Crime Branch, in which several of the accused were nabbed, Kundra was sent to two months custody before getting bail in September 2021.
