The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi has expressed deep grief over the demise of Veteran telugu cinematic personality, Rebel Star Krishnam Raju Garu.
Sharing a picture of Krishnam Raju and his family with him, The Prime Minister tweeted;
“Saddened by the passing away of Shri UV Krishnam Raju Garu. The coming generations will remember his cinematic brilliance and creativity. He was also at the forefront of community service and made a mark as a political leader. Condolences to his family and admirers. Om Shanti.” PM Narendra Modi tweeted
Born in 1940, Krishnam Raju made his debut with Chilaka Gorinka in 1966 which won him a Nandi Award. In his entire acting career, the veteran actor starred in over 183 films. His last film was Radhe Shyam. He was also an active politician.
Telugu veteran actor and politician Uppalapati Venkata Krishnam Raju, also known as Krishnam Raju, passed away on Sunday morning. He was 82. Popularly known as Rebel Star, Krishnam Raju had a glorified film and political career. The veteran actor was suffering from health complications and breathed his last in Hyderabad.
On August 5, Krishnam Raju was hospitalised for post-Covid complications. He was diagnosed with severe pneumonia caused by multidrug-resistant bacteria and fungal organisms and also had severe infective bronchitis. The late actor had heart rhythm disturbances during the hospital stay and worsening of kidney function. He was on ventilator support since admission. Krishnam Raju was managed by a team of experts from departments of pulmonology, critical care, cardiology, nephrology, infectious diseases and vascular surgery. He was on appropriate treatment and was under close monitoring.

Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao condoled the demise of veteran film actor, Krishnam Raju. CM Chandrasekhar Rao mentioned that Krishnan Raju’s demise is a great loss for the Telugu silver screen. He also mentioned his contribution to films and lauded his fifty-year career. The CM said that Krishnam Raju served the people of the country as a member of the Lok Sabha, as a Union Minister and through the field of political administration. He further mentioned that he prayed for his soul to rest in peace. CM Chandrasekhar Rao also expressed his deepest condolences to the family members of late Krishnam Raju.
