April 20, 2024: After a terrific performance in theatres and in OTT, the movie Premalu will have sequel. The makers of the film announced on social media Premalu 2 is in the making and it will arrive in cinemas on in 2025.
The makers in their twitter shared: “The Biggest RomCom blockbuster ever in Malayalam Cinema will be back in 2025 ! Let’s Premalu2 ,” wrote production banner Bhavna Studios. The poster shows a majestic palace against the backdrop of a starry sky.
The initial reactions on social media is loud – and most wrote ” it is unecessary” the reason , premalu was a beautiful film with a perfect ending, and the audience want to cherish it. However, it will be intersting to see what twist or narrative the creator of the movie and its writer will have for the audience.
Fahadh Faasil , once again will join forces with the production team as one of the film’s producers, while Girish AD will be helming the sequel.
Premalu enjoyed widespread success not only in Kerala but also in Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. S.S. Karthikeya, who backed the Telugu version, announced that he will be associated with the sequel as well.

Set in Hyderabad, Premalu depicts the story of two Malayalis — Sachin (Naslen) and Reenu (Mamitha Baiju) — who cross paths and eventually fall in love with each other. The romantic comedy also features Sangeeth Prathap, Shyam Mohan, Meenakshi Raveendran and Mathew Thomas in pivotal roles.
Premalu 2 will probably the most awaited film in 2025, and one has to wait and see what Naslen and Mamitha Baiju as Sachin and Reenu in a sequel to the 2024 hit Malayalam romcom Premalu, will have in the making for the fans. The makers unveiled on Friday a concept poster of the next instalment.
