November 5, 2025: Actor, producer, Rana Daggubati’s Spirit Media has unveiled a five-film slate spanning Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi, positioning itself as a creative hub for emerging and established storytellers alike. With projects ranging from period noir thrillers to literary adaptations and indie debuts, the studio is crafting a space where genre, language, and scale converge to nurture the next wave of filmmakers.

Leading the slate is Kaantha, a Tamil period-noir drama starring Dulquer Salmaan and directed by Selvamani Selvaraj. Co-produced with Wayfarer Films, Kaantha marks Spirit Media’s first homegrown production and is set for release on November 14. Dulquer, reflecting on the journey, called it “one of the most special films in my career,” praising the collaborative spirit of working with new talent and Rana Daggubati as producer.

The studio also announced its first Hindi-language production, an adaptation of Aravind Adiga’s acclaimed novel Last Man in Tower, directed by Ben Rekhi and starring Manoj Bajpayee. The film explores themes of ambition, moral compromise, and urban transformation, aligning with Spirit Media’s mission to tell layered, human-centered stories. “We couldn’t have had a better team of collaborators,” said Rana Daggubati, emphasizing the studio’s commitment to sincere storytelling and cross-industry partnerships.

The rest of the slate includes Dark Chocolate, a Telugu dark-comedy thriller co-produced with Waltair Productions; Psyche Siddharth, a debut feature presented and distributed by Spirit Media; and Premante, a love-comedy-thriller backed by debut producer Jhanvi Narang. Each project reflects the studio’s evolving role as a platform for bold, genre-fluid narratives.

Spirit Media Builds a Hub for India’s Next Wave of Filmmakers

Beyond production, Spirit Media is also reshaping distribution for independent cinema. The studio recently backed theatrical releases of All We Imagine As Light (Cannes winner) and Sabar Bonda (Sundance winner), both directed by debut filmmakers. These efforts underscore its vision to build a unified, inclusive film ecosystem that supports alternative voices and expands the reach of Indian storytelling.

Founded by Rana Daggubati, Spirit Media is more than a production house, it is a creative home for independent producers, directors, and writers across industries. With investments in content development, talent management, and digital infrastructure, the studio is shaping the future of Indian cinema by championing collaboration, diversity, and artistic ambition.
