April 2, 2025: Kesari 2 Actor Akshay Kumar has called on both the British government and King Charles to watch his upcoming historical drama, Kesari Chapter 2: The Untold Story of Jallianwala Bagh, urging them to “acknowledge their mistake” after witnessing the truth depicted on screen.
Set to release in theatres on April 18, the film portrays the intense legal battle led by C. Sankaran Nair, the lawyer who stood up against General Dyer and the British Raj following the Jallianwala Bagh massacre of 1919.

Speaking at a press conference, Akshay revealed that the story is deeply personal to him.
“My grandfather witnessed the entire Jallianwala Bagh incident. He shared stories with my father, who told me. This is etched in my memory since childhood,” Akshay said.
When asked about the film’s message to the British monarchy, Akshay clarified,
“I’m not here with a begging bowl saying, ‘They should say sorry’. I just want them to watch this movie. The rest will flow automatically.”
Rana Daggubati Calls It a “Must-Watch Across Languages”

Actor Rana Daggubati, after viewing an early screening, praised the film on social media:
