January 7, 2026: The Aditya Dhar‑directed spy thriller Dhurandhar starring Ranveer Singh, Akshaye Khanna has now emerged as the biggest Hindi film ever made, becoming the first Hindi title to enter the ₹800‑crore nett club in India.

Jio Studios announced on Wednesday that Dhurandhar has collected ₹831.40 crore nett in India within 33 days. “Thank you, India. You have crowned a new No. 1,” the studio posted on X, celebrating the milestone. The film earned ₹820.30 crore in its first 31 days, followed by ₹5.40 crore on Day 32 and ₹5.70 crore on Day 33.

However, industry tracker Sacnilk has reported a slightly lower figure of ₹782.14 crore nett so far. Despite the variation, the film’s dominance at the box office remains unquestioned.

Featuring a powerhouse ensemble, Sanjay Dutt, Akshaye Khanna, Arjun Rampal, R Madhavan, Sara Arjun and Rakesh Bedi, the film is produced by Aditya Dhar and Lokesh Dhar under B62 Studios, in collaboration with Jio Studios.

Set in early‑2000s Lyari, Karachi, Dhurandhar follows Indian spy Hamza (Ranveer Singh) as he infiltrates Pakistan’s underworld. The narrative weaves in real events such as the IC‑814 Kandahar hijack, the 2001 Parliament attack and the 26/11 Mumbai attacks.

Dhurandhar Crowned the Biggest Film Ever

Released on December 5, the film continues to draw strong footfalls and is averaging around ₹20 crore per day globally. Its worldwide gross has already crossed ₹1,207 crore, placing it among the top five highest‑grossing Indian films of all time. A sequel has been confirmed for March 19, coinciding with Eid, setting up a major box‑office clash with Yash’s Toxic.

Meanwhile, Sriram Raghavan’s Ikkis, starring Agastya Nanda as Param Vir Chakra awardee Second Lieutenant Arun Khetarpal, has collected ₹23.16 crore nett in six days. The war drama also features Dharmendra and Jaideep Ahlawat.
