Mumbai, Maharashtra – In a turn of events, Mumbai Police have clarified that a complaint filed against actress Raveena Tandon accusing her of drunk driving, rash driving, and assault was entirely false.
This comes after a social media post by Viral Bhayani shared by Tandon herself revealed that CCTV footage showed her car wasn’t involved in any collision, and she wasn’t intoxicated.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Rajtilak Roshan of Zone 9 confirmed that the complaint stemmed from a misunderstanding. Tandon’s driver was reversing the car when a family felt they might be hit. An argument ensued, and the situation escalated.
Raveena Tandon Steps In, Withdraws Complaint
Upon reaching the scene, Raveena Tandon intervened to protect her driver but was subjected to verbal abuse by the crowd. Both parties went to the Khar Police station to file complaints but later withdrew them.
The DCP emphasized that neither party sustained injuries, and the CCTV footage confirmed the car’s safe passage. Additionally, a separate report quoted Mumbai Police stating that both parties denied pursuing complaints.
The incident gained traction due to a viral video circulating on social media platforms. The video reportedly shows Tandon attempting to calm the situation and pleading, “Don’t hit me.” However, it fails to capture the complete picture.
This clarification by Mumbai Police puts the false accusations against Raveena Tandon to rest.
