May 16, 2026: Actor Ravi Mohan has publicly responded after his estranged wife Aarti Ravi shared an emotional social media post accusing him of abandoning his family and responsibilities.
The controversy began after Ravi recently appeared at a wedding in Chennai with singer Keneesha Francis, who is rumoured to be his partner. Photos and videos from the event quickly went viral online, leading to widespread discussion on social media.
Soon after the appearance, Aarti posted a heartfelt message on Instagram claiming that while the public only sees “carefully curated appearances,” the reality behind their ongoing divorce is very painful. She alleged that Ravi had walked away not only from their marriage but also from responsibilities towards their children.

Aarti also claimed that she and her two sons were facing eviction from their home based on Ravi’s instructions. Speaking about the impact on their children, she said that although they may not fully understand the legal situation, they are deeply affected emotionally and feel abandoned.
Ravi Mohan, known for films like Ponniyin Selvan, has now released a detailed four-page statement denying several of the accusations. In his response, the actor said he was deeply hurt by the claims and described the situation as being “stabbed in the chest.”
Ravi stated that what affected him the most was seeing his children being brought into the public discussion. He claimed he had been intentionally kept away from his sons since the separation and accused Aarti and her mother of isolating him from both his children and parents.
The actor also opened up about his personal struggles during the marriage. Ravi alleged that he experienced years of mental, emotional, physical, and financial abuse. According to him, he left his home with almost nothing and was emotionally shattered during that phase of his life.
In his statement, Ravi Mohan indirectly confirmed the support he received from Keneesha Francis. He described her as someone who stood by him during one of the darkest moments of his life and called her “a beautiful companion.”
Despite the ongoing dispute, Ravi insisted that he has not abandoned his children. He said his decision was only to separate from his wife and not from his sons. The actor added that his children remain the most important part of his life and promised to continue supporting and caring for them.
Ravi Mohan had officially announced his separation from Aarti in September 2024. The couple share two sons, Aarav and Ayaan. Since then, the separation has continued to attract public attention, especially on social media.
