After enthralling fans in India, with the Golden Globe for Best Original Song, filmmaker SS Rajamouli’s epic film “RRR” continues to rack up the accolades, winning the Critics’ Choice Award for Best Foreign Language Film. The 28th Critics’ Choice Awards announced the news on Twitter, congratulating the cast and crew of the film on their win.
“RRR” beat out stiff competition from films such as “All Quiet on the Western Front,” “Argentina 1985,” “Bardo,” “False Chronicle of a Handful of Truths,” “Close,” and “Decision to Leave.” Rajamouli and his son Karthikeya were on hand to accept the award and, according to a tweet from Karthikeya, the family will be heading back to Hyderabad after the ceremony.
The film, which stars NTR Jr., Ram Charan, Ajay Devgn, Alia Bhatt, Shriya Saran, Samuthirakani, Ray Stevenson, Alison Doody, and Olivia Morris, tells the story of two real-life Indian revolutionaries, Alluri Sitarama Raju and Komaram Bheem, and their fictional friendship and fight against the British Raj in the 1920s.
RRR plot explores the undocumented period in their lives when both the revolutionaries chose to go into obscurity before they began the fight for their country.

RRR music composer, MM Keeravani, also recently won the Best Music/Score at the Los Angeles Film Critics Association (LAFCA) for his work on “RRR.” With the “RRR” team also having won the Best Original Song award for “Naatu Naatu” at the Golden Globes and the song being shortlisted in the Original Song category for the 95th Academy Awards, it seems that the film’s success shows no signs of slowing down.
The Los Angeles Film Critics Association (LAFCA) is a group of film critics based in Los Angeles who come together to award the best in film each year. The group was founded in 1975 and is made up of critics from various publications, including newspapers, magazines, and online publications.
The LAFCA holds its annual awards ceremony in January, which is considered a precursor to the Academy Awards. The LAFCA awards are considered significant in the film industry as the group’s awards often predict the winners of the Academy Awards. Some notable past winners of LAFCA awards include “The Godfather,” “Pulp Fiction,” “La La Land,” and “Moonlight.”
