Samantha’s Yashoda is winning audiences hearts worldwide and made an impressive opening at the Box office. Trade analysts estimate that on day one, the medical thriller made roughly Rs 3.5 crore globally.

Yashoda, is a thriller genre for female audiences.  The plot is suspenseful, and Samantha gives a strong performance that keeps the audience engrossed in a tale that combines dramatic emotion with immersive action. This science fiction thriller dabbles surrogacy with fine sensitivity.

With good reviews backing the film, Yashoda enters the list of South Asian movies that have found an audience abroad, particularly in the US, following Ponniyin Selvan 1 and Kantara. It’s a big win for Samantha and the movie, which in India is up against Marvel’s Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.

Samantha is grateful for the positive feedback to the movie. She has been posting numerous thank-you notes on Twitter.. She wrote, “This time, more than ever, I was hoping and praying for all your support in promoting the film. The affection you have showered on me & Yashoda in the run up to the release is humbling. Forever grateful to all of you. You are my family Truly hope you enjoy the film. Thank you (sic).”

Yashoda has received mixed reviews from critics thus far. The movie has received praise for its clever plot and surprises, but it has also drawn criticism for its shoddy execution. The movie received two stars from Manoj Kumar of Indian Express, who also noted that Samantha Ruth Prabhu “brings grace to the part.” Samantha gives a very convincing performance, but the film’s dull grindhouse treatment lessens its impact.

Samantha, who plays Yashoda with both sensitivity and persistence; the action scenes are right up her alley, and she is convincing, carries the movie. Varalaxmi portrays her character with a relaxed ease, yet her persona could have been far more compelling.

When it comes to the important character who moves the plot along, Unni Mukundan is convincing. The thriller’s atmosphere is enhanced by Sukumar’s cinematography and Mani Sharma’s soundtrack.

Yashoda, directed by Hari-Harish, has Samantha in the title character together with Unni Mukundan, Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, Rao Ramesh, and Murali Sharma. It features Mani Sharma’s music.
