HomeMovie ReviewShylock Movie Review: Mammootty's One Man Show

Shylock is a pure one man show, that of the hero Mammooty. The film starts as a comedy, then turns into a thriller and goes to the climax as a revenge story. From start to finish it is Mammotty’s show. A pure one man show.

The movie is loaded with megastar uplifting music from Gopi Sunder, Renadive’s cinematography and one liner dialogues by Aneesh Ahamed and Bibin Mohan. All crafted to thrill Mammotty fans.

Movie in short:Boss is a money lender and Prathapa Varma has duped him avoiding to repay the money he owes. Despite being cautioned many tines from Boss and his deputies  Prathapa Varma, with the help of his police commissioner friend, continues to upset the Boss. And the clash begins.

Producer Prathapa Varma (Kalabhavan Shajohn) in discussions with the director about the extended schedule of the movie, receives a call from Boss. He evades it and then enters Ganapathy (Hareesh Kanaran) with a warning to not skip Boss’ call. But, Prathapa Varma continues to avoid the call while the set is prepared to take the hero’s entry shot of the prathap’s  new movie, and then, you witness the entry of the real ‘hero’ of the film thumping his way punching everybody on his way.

The story raises a question why is Boss so interested in the battle with Prathapa Varma? Is there a story inside the story?

Watch the movie and find out. It is a movie cut for mammokka fans all the way.
