Sid Malhotra Salutes Nation’s Param Vir.. SHER SHAH Capt. Vikram Batra, Filmykeema Joins the Nation to pay tribute to the incredible Indian Army Soldier who laid his life today 21 years ago for the Nation.

The actor in an interview with a news agency told “More than interesting, it is more of a responsibility to bring back his glory on screen. He sacrificed his life for our nation, so I can never take this project for granted. I met his parents and his brother — they are so attached to him emotionally. I hope I don’t let them down. Apart from business aspect, I hope we make a film that does justice to Mr. Batra’s glory and eventually makes his family happy.”

Directed by Vishnu Vardhan, the film will be produced by Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions.

Captain Vikram Batra died while regaining Indian territories from Pakistani intruders during the 1999 Kargil War. He was often referred to as ‘Sher Shah’ (Lion King) and was posthumously awarded the Param Vir Chakra, India’s highest wartime gallantry award.

The first look of the movie Sher Shah was released a day after Army Day (celebrated on January 15), producer-filmmaker Karan Johar unveiled three posters of Sidharth Malhotra’s upcoming  film Shershaah on social media.
Sidharth, who has always mentioned Shershaah to be his passion project, looks perfectly in sync as a soldier in the posters. Sidharth dressed in Army fatigues leads his men on the battlefield. His eyes are full of pride as he fights for his motherland.
In one of the posters, Sidharth can be seen climbing a cliff with fellow officers. The background shows an explosion but nothing rattles these brave men from performing their duty. The poster also reads, ” Based on the untold true story of Captain Vikram Batra (PVC). His code name…”
