During a candid appearance on film trade analyst Komal Nahta’s podcast Gamechangers, Shetty revealed that both Simmba 2 and a sequel to Sooryavanshi are on the cards — and that’s just the beginning.
“Simmba ka part 2 hoga, Sooryavanshi bhi aage badhegi. Aur bhi log aaenge, aur bhi filmein banengi,” Shetty announced, electrifying fans who’ve long awaited updates on the beloved franchise.
The filmmaker, known for his signature blend of mass appeal and explosive action, shared that the interconnected cop saga — which began unexpectedly with Singham in 2011 — wasn’t a planned universe at first. It was while developing Simmba that the seed of a shared cinematic world began to grow, eventually leading to the strategic introduction of Akshay Kumar’s Sooryavanshi.

The franchise’s most recent offering, Singham Again (2024), brought together a blockbuster ensemble: Ajay Devgn, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Ranveer Singh, Akshay Kumar, Tiger Shroff, and Deepika Padukone. Shetty revealed that this ambitious crossover was envisioned as early as 2019 during the development of Sooryavanshi. “We’ve already laid down the character arcs for Tiger and Deepika. Their roles will expand significantly in future films,” Shetty confirmed, hinting at potential spin-offs for the new entrants.
