In an intriguing revelation, Taapsee Pannu sheds light on the unanticipated beginnings of her role in Rajkumar Hirani’s ‘Dunki,’ an origin story that stemmed from an unexpected rumor turning into reality.
Reflecting on the initial communication about ‘Dunki,’ Taapsee Pannu humorously recounted, “The first call I received for ‘Dunki’ was quite amusing. It was Raju Sir’s call, but before that, the grapevine had already spread far and wide about my involvement in the film. Like any typical rumor, I initially dismissed it as implausible. It was the first time I had a rumor this clear about myself, and I thought, ‘Well, that’s a pleasant rumor to hear.'”
However, the narrative took an unexpected turn when Rajkumar Hirani himself reached out. “But then I got a call from Sir. He mentioned, ‘Well, the news is already out, so I thought I should just call and confirm,'” she added. At that time, Pannu was occupied with a South Indian film shoot, and Hirani assured her about discussing the film’s storyline upon her return.

Pannu emphasized, “It was the only rumor that not only sounded good but also turned out to be true.”
Since her debut in 2013 with ‘Chashme Baddoor,’ Taapsee Pannu has made a significant mark in the industry.
