In an open conversation recently, the Sita Ramam music composer and Dulquer Salmaan say there a several wow factors about the film and why it will be a treat to watch in theatres. Vishal the music composer shares his experience writing the songs for the war-era love story Sita Ramam and how it was to collaborate with producer Aswani Dutt, Hanu Raghavapudi, the film’s director, and the lyricist Sitarama Sastry.  Dulquer and Vishal also share the X Factor which makes the movie compelling to watch in theatres.

Dulquer wowed the audience with his brief impactful performance in Mahanati, and after watching the Sita Ramam trailer his fan base has grown manifold. Dulquer who plays Lt. Ram in the movie Says the wow factor in the movie is that it has beautiful music, a unique love story, and a spectacular visual appeal. The movie was shot during the difficult Covid period shot in extreme conditions in Kashmir, Gujarat, Himachal Pradesh, and Russia. The story is so compelling that, despite my decision not to do a love story again, was bowled over by the script and signed instantaneously when the role was offered to me.

I have learned a lot from the most celebrated filmmaker Aswani Dutt says Vishal. It’s been a very, very gratifying journey. He made an exemplary contribution to the world, he had deep knowledge about music right from details like ragas and the approach towards music in cinema.

About working with Hanu Raghavapudi both Vishal and Dulquer say that he is eccentric. Vishal goes on to state, the fact is I am equally eccentric. So, it’s like two crazy individuals making very good music and film that touches the core of the audience. I often have this small argument over which song is better. But given that we attempted to be really, extremely rich musically, I am very pleased with the reactions we’ve had to all three tracks, the response from the fans has been overwhelming too, with a few of them sharing to us on social media that they have listened to the songs more than 50 times.

Vishal says that the songs on the album are completely genuine and that not a single plastic sound was used in their creation. He asserts that the songs on the album are natural and that not a single plastic sound was used in their creation.

Sita Ramam is Rooted and it really, it’s. It’s like when how people used to be. When in the 1960s and 70s how people used to be. That is the way it’s been shot by Hanu, and to ensure each character of the film, oozes authenticity.

Vishal says Sita Ramam in one word is soulful. The sense in each language is different and retains the beauty of the lyrics. Citing an example of Kaanunna Kalyanam he says it is loosely based on Rag Khamaj and Nata Bhairavi. The song captures the rhythm when two hearts meet and celebrate their love. It is a song penned by Sitarama Sastry a gift to the Telugu language, he is so well versed with Alankarams, alliteration, the figure of speech, and the power of language. The biggest compliment I got from him is that I am good at understanding language in its totality.

On Dulquer Salmaan, Vishal says he is a great singer, his presence in the frame as an actor is terrific and he has outdone himself in Sita Ramam. The fact is that while composing I became teary-eyed, that is the kind of emotional feel he gives you as an actor.

Another interesting element is Mrunal Thakur makes her foray into South of India Film and Rashmika Mandanna plays a rebellious Afreen who is the vital link between Sita and Ram in the movie.
