This is the biggest release of the year 2020, and Thalivar Darbar made it absolutely sure that his fans have a great pongal.
The movie opened in 7000 screens worlwide today. The city of Chennai alone has 650 shows on day one of the release. As reports, shows of Darbar are sold out.
Director AR Murugadoss has delivered a super screen play and Superstar Rajinikanth’s police avatar made sure that the efforts of his director does not go in vain with his massy appeal and style loved by millions.
Other stars in the film also did well and complemented the super star with imacting roles, especially Yogi babu and Nivetha Thomas – well done. The background score composed by Anirudh’s was brilliant and synced well with every scene it was played.
In Darbar, Superstar Rajinikanth plays the role of a cop ‘Adithya Arunachalam’ in the film and Nayanthara is seen paired opposite him. The Big Bollywood actor Suniel Shetty plays the main antagonist in the film.
The director is bang on from the word go as he firmly establishes his protagonist Aaditya Arunasalam (Rajinikanth), a top cop deputed to Mumbai to tackle the drug menace in the city. The cop is a combination of usual versus unusual cop who goes by the rule book. Interestingly, we see him roughing up the members of the human rights commission questioning him about his rule-breaking.
The movie is loaded with gripping scenes and immersive drama, in the course of his operations cop Rajinikanth (Aaditya) corners Ajay Malhotra (Prateik Babbar), the son of a top businessman, who happens to be the chief drug supplier in the city.
There are twists though, when Ajay is eliminated, Hari Chopra (Suniel Shetty), a dreaded gangster who turned the police force into a laughing stock 27 years earlier, returns to the country to get his revenge by gunning Aaditya and his daughter Valli (Nivetha Thomas).
The chemistry between Rajinikanth and Nivetha Thomas as father-daughter are the film’s highlight and elevates the scenes they both act. Nayantara gets a romantic track, probably she could have got some more scenes that would have added to the glory of the movie.
The movie is true Murgodoss style, like Tuppakki, Peta his style of direction stamped all over in Darbar too, to delight Rajinikanth, fans.
The star cast in the film is also stellar and all have delivered good performance Nivetha Thomas, Prateik Babbar, Dalip Tahil, Yogi Babu, Thambi Ramaiya, and others.
Go watch the movie in theaters if you are a Thalaivar Fan. Its fun, thrill , action all the way.
