June 10, 2024: Bollywood actor Noor Malabika Das was found dead in her Mumbai flat. The police suspect it to be a case of suicide. Known for her role in the 2023 legal drama The Trial, Das had a promising career ahead of her.
Neighbors alerted the police after noticing an unusual odor emanating from Das’ Lokhandwala apartment. Upon investigation, her body was found in a decomposed state. The actor’s co-star, Kajol, had shared the screen with her in The Trial.
Noor Malabika Das, a former air hostess with Qatar Airways, transitioned to acting and made her mark in Hindi films and web series. Born in Assam, the 37-year-old actor had garnered attention for her talent and versatility.
According to news agency ANI, Das died by suicide. She was found hanging from the ceiling fan in her Mumbai residence. Despite efforts to contact her family, no one came forward. The police, with assistance from the Mamdani Health and Education Trust NGO, performed her last rites.

Friends and colleagues expressed their grief over the loss. Actor Aloknath Pathak, who had worked with her, shared, “I have known Noor for years and collaborated with her in many films and series.” Until recently, her family lived with her in Mumbai but had returned to their native place.
