The creators of Bigg Boss 16 are giving viewers glimpses of the competitors as the premiere date approaches. Following the promotion for TV stars Nimrit Kaur Ahluwalia and Sumbul Toqueer, Colors released the ad for rapper MC Stan joining the Salman Khan-hosted programme on Wednesday.

As is customary in hip-hop, the rapper refers to Bigg Boss as “bro” in the promo. He said that since he is also participating in the game this season, Bigg Boss is also like a brother to him as he corrects him and reminds him that he is the boss. MC Stan’s face is hidden, but his neckpiece, which reads “Slatt,” reveals who he is.

Rapper MC Stan, whose true name is Altaf Tadavi, also known as Altaf Shaikh, hails from Pune. He began singing qawwalis when he was 12 years old, but later found himself lured to rapping. He is currently located in Mumbai and has two albums out: Insaan and Tadipaar. He is also well-known for his collaboration with Raftaar and a diss tune about Emiway Bantai.

Always keeping a modest profile, MC Stan frequently refers to himself as a “underground artist.” He recently gained notoriety after his ex-girlfriend said he set her up with criminals so they could beat her up.

Marathi Bigg Boss 2 champion Shiv Thakare has also been included in  Bigg Boss 16. Shiv Thakare, an Amravati native, gained notoriety by participating in MTV Roadies Rising. He was a member of Rannvijay’s crew. Shiv and co-contestant Veena Jagtap became close during Shiv’s time on the Mahesh Manjrekar show in 2019. But soon after, the two split up.

Bigg Boss 16 now features Tina Dutta, Sreejita De, Nimrit Kaur Ahluwalia, Shalin Bhanot, Gori Nagori, Sumbul Toqueer, Sajid Khan, Soundarya Sharma and Gautam Vig. Host Salman Khan also revealed Tajikistani singer Abdu Rozik as the first contestant of the show. Bigg Boss 16 will launch on October 1.
