Rajinikanth, the Superstar and Thalaivar turns 72 today. It is a day that marks jubilation, and festivities worldwide, and conversations around his films, dialogues and much more.

To mark this special day (December 13) the creators of his most awaited film of the year Jailer will release a glimpse of his character Muthuvel Pandian from the movie today at 6:00 PM. Jailer is directed by Nelson Dilipkumar.

Rajinikanth fans every year makes it a big affair by paying rich tributes to their hero and Thalaivar. People share his movies, his style, his action, his songs, and many of his signature dialogues.

Sun Pictures, today announced that Muthuvel Pandian’s glimpse from the movie will arrive at 6 pm today, on the occasion of Rajinikanth’s birthday. As the name suggests, Thalaivar will be seen as jailer Muthuvel Pandian in this action-packed entertainer.

Rajinikanth Muthuvel Pandian Look from Jailer will be out today

Jailer is an action comedy written and directed by Nelson Dilipkumar. Apart from Rajinikanth, the film stars Shiva Rajkumar, Ramya Krishnan, Vasanth Ravi, Yogi Babu and Vinayakan in pivotal roles. The film has music by Anirudh Ravichander, cinematography by Vijay Kartik Kannan and editing by R Nirmal. Jailer will release in the summer of 2023.

The celebration began with Rajinikanth’s Baba, which has been re-released. The brilliant song ‘Shakthi Kodu’ from the film, which should be part of everyone’s gym playlist, has the lyrics “Muduvedutha pinaal naan thadam maara maataen. Munvaitha Kaalai pin vaika maataen (I don’t change tracks once I decide. I don’t retract once I have put a step forward).” The lines were missing from the remastered version of the film for obvious reasons.

Unlike other veteran superstars like Amitabh Bachchan (a mentor figure to Rajini) and Kamal Haasan, Rajinikanth rarely plays his age in films. Yet, he has managed to retain his image and fanbase intact. That should be the takeaway for his millions of fans across the globe, not the silly Ra Ra Ramaiya.

With Jailer and a solid deal with Lyca Production, it wouldn’t be wrong to say he still has a lot more up his sleeve. It’s true, there has been no other superstar in the history of Tamil cinema to have pulled off such great feats at 72. I would like to recall his dialogue from 2.0, “I am the only one… Super one. No comparison.” Unlike Ra Ra Ramaiya, this line might be true for a long time… maybe, forever.
